Spins Bowl New York’s Grand Opening in Carmel

Spins Bowl, an entertainment division of Mount Kisco-based Diamond Properties that specializes in renovating bowling alleys and transforming them into modern bowling entertainment centers, announced the Grand Opening of Spins Bowl Carmel.

Located on Old Rte 6 at the site of the former Carmel Bowl, this is the latest addition to the growing list of local Spins Bowl venues, including locations in Mount Kisco Poughkeepsie, Wappinger’s Falls, a new location planned for Peekskill that will open in 2017, and several locations in Ohio.

“We’re excited about the Putnam County market and feel that the area was in need for an event venue like Spins Bowl Carmel,” said Bill Diamond, Co-Founder of Diamond Properties. “We feel we will definitely have the most dynamic entertainment venue in Putnam County.”

Diamond Properties invested more than $4 million on the project, including $1.5 million to renovate the 30,000-square-foot facility, which features 26 bowling lanes, a redemption arcade with 45 games, pool tables, foosball, refurbished restaurant with 16 craft beers on tap, and a modernized menu that will include terrific burgers, tacos, salads, and craft pizzas.

“I look forward to the Grand Opening of Spins Bowl,” said Bill Nulk, Vice President of the Carmel-Kent Chamber of Commerce. “Both the Carmel-Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce welcome this re-invigorated addition to our business community.”

Perhaps the most exciting change for families and businesses is providing a unique event venue right in the community with fun activities all year long.

"We are thrilled to welcome Diamond Hospitality Group and the new Spin Bowl recreation center to Putnam," said Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell. "Diamond's investment in our county will benefit kids and families, offering them an entertainment option where everyone can "unplug" from their digital devices for a while and have fun together. We also look forward to visits from our neighbors beyond the Putnam border, who will likely visit the new recreation center, and hopefully spend some time shopping and getting better acquainted with our beautiful county."

Diamond said the hope is that the newest Spins Bowl will revitalize interest in the entertainment center, which hasn’t seen any major renovations in the past 40 years.

“Spins is focused on adult and families as well as those seeking a place to host a party or social event,” said Diamond. “We want to preserve Carmel’s strong league base while attracting new customers forthe Friday night to Sunday period; bowlers who are looking for a new experience consisting of large video screens, music, entertainment, luxurious leather seating and quality food.”

The VIP Grand Opening will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 5:30 pm. The VIP event will include a short presentation by dignitaries and then a "Roll Off" where VIPs take a synchronized bowl on the new lanes.

The public grand opening will be celebrated om Friday, October 14th through Sunday, October 16th.
