Putnam County Joint Veterans Council, the Veterans Service Agency, County Executive MaryEllen Odell and the County Legislature invite the public to Gold Star Mothers’ Day starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Veterans Memorial Park off Gipsy Trail Road in Kent.
American Gold Star Mothers are an organization of mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of our country. They are a Veterans Service Organization, established in 1928 and chartered by the United States Congress in 1984. American Gold Star Mothers continue to honor our sons and daughters through service -- service to veterans and patriotic events.
