The Sherman Playhouse Holds Auditions for HAIR January 14 & 15

The Sherman Playhouse is holding auditions for an ethnically diverse cast of 15 men and women – ages 16 to 30 – for the summer production of Hair: The Musical.

No appointments are necessary to audition. Actors should prepare a monologue and song suitable for the show style and be able to sing and move well. Auditioners should also wear clothing suitable for dance and movement. Accompaniment will be provided if needed. Both professionals and amateurs are welcome.

Rehearsals for Hair will begin May 22. The production runs June 30 to July 29.

Hair tells the story of the "tribe," a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the "Age of Aquarius" living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War. This summer, the musical will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
