Putnam Valley Business Network Partners with the PC Economic Development Corp.
It was a night of networking at the newly opened Watson’s Restaurant and Bar. The Putnam County Economic Development Corporation has kicked off its 1st Networking event in Putnam Valley. Ellen Hayes, President of the Putnam Valley Business Network, welcomed Jill Varrichio, President of the EDC and Linda Purcell, Marketing Committee Chairman. The Putnam County Economic Development Corporation works to drive the economic vitality of Putnam County by fostering an environment conducive to the creation and retention of business delivering an enhanced quality of life for its residents.
Linda Purcell, a lifelong resident of Putnam Valley, choose Putnam Valley to kick off their networking events currently scheduled throughout the county. Linda wanted to highlight Putnam Valley’s newest restaurant owned by John Watson, Joe Reed, and Frank Newcomb. Watson’s Restaurant & Bar has been packed with local supporters since opening day! The Putnam Valley Business Network which launched last fall has been extremely successful in marketing their local businesses whether storefront or homebased. Tara Scozzafava Baisley, owner of the Putnam Valley Florist, stated that since joining the Business Network, she had her best Valentine’s season of sales ever! For the first time in its history, Putnam Valley has their businesses nominated in every category for the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce 2017 Trailblazer Awards.
The Putnam Valley Business Network which is Putnam Valley’s Chamber of Commerce, holds educational, marketing, and networking events throughout the year. This member drive organization has teamed up with the Putnam Valley Central School District in an intern program and has offered its first scholarship fund benefiting a local student.
