Save the Date: July 9 Community Bicycle Ride Tour of Putnam

THE TOUR OF PUTNAM IS A COMMUNITY BICYCLE RIDE, ON SUNDAY JULY 9, 2017

At the Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park in Carmel, NY 10512.

Help bring cycling back to Putnam and join the community for a fun ride in the country. The new Tour of Putnam has three road routes to choose from of varying difficulty, all showing the beauty of the County. The routes will be well marked with color coded arrows on roadways. In addition, signs, traffic marshals, and support stations with food, water, and basic mechanics will assist for a fun and safe ride.

Online registration is $35.00 at BikeReg.Com and $40 for day of registration. No refunds (Rain or Shine).

A Kids loop and Mountain bike loop will be in the park too ($10/including food).

Hang out after your ride and enjoy some food (included) and live music!

The three road routes consist of rolling terrain and road riding experience is necessary. Route 1 is a 14 Mile loop and great for all levels of riders. Route 2 is a 26 Mile loop that mimics Sybil Ludington's famous ride when she awoke the local militia to counter attack the British at Danbury. Route 3 is a 62 Mile or Metric Century loop that encompasses the entire county. The riders must wear helmets, start at appropriate times, and always obey all New York traffic laws.

Putnam County has so much to offer with beautiful rolling back roads, expansive lakes, and amazing history. Robert Kelley and Pawling Cycle & Sport are passionate about biking and want to give cyclists the opportunity to see the county by bicycle. Pawling Cycle & Sport has always promoted sanctioned (racing) events, but this year we are excited to host the Tour of Putnam which offers something for anyone.
