The 7th Danbury STEAM Fair on Saturday, October 14 from 11am-4pm

The Danbury Library and the non-profit Danbury Hackerspace announce that they will be hosting the 7th Danbury STEAM Fair on Saturday, October 14th from 11am - 4pm at the Library and Hackerspace.

The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) Fair will feature more than 30 exhibits in the Danbury Hackerspace and throughout the Library. The STEAM Fair highlights local STEAM exhibitors, artists, and craftspeople, along with live music and food trucks. Past Danbury STEAM Fairs have had more than 2,000 attendees.

“The STEAM Fair is where you come to downtown Danbury to see and experience things you never would see,” said Aurelio Muraca, the Technology Program Coordinator of the Danbury Library. “It’s a wonderful merging of tangible creative experiences. The Library and the Hackerspace come together to showcase people who represent imagination and innovation.”

Fall 2017 exhibitors include Luke’s Toys, Volt the Robot, Ava’s Party Designs, the Everwonder Museum, CityCenter Danbury, Noteworthy Chocolates, Nghiep Luu Origami, Workspace Education, Danbury Library’s Maker-In-Residence Cynthia Rauschert, the Danbury Robotics Team (Akoma Foundation) and the Danbury Museum. Music will be provided by DJ Sebas, and food will be offered by Firehouse Grill & Food Trucks as well as Cinnamon Churros.

“We love partnering with the Danbury Library to showcase local artists, entrepreneurs, and craftspeople at the STEAM Fair,” said Mike Kaltschnee, co-director of the Danbury Hackerspace. “We work together to find interactive exhibits and give people who normally wouldn’t exhibit a chance to showcase their work, and feature some of the cool startups that are working out of the Hackerspace.”

The Danbury STEAM Fair is again sponsored by the Savings Bank of Danbury.
