Local residents now have a new and improved option in which to spend their entertainment dollar. Spins Bowl in Carmel held its Grand Opening Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016. Bill Diamond of the Diamond Hospitality group who purchased the former Carmel Bowl in early 2015, welcomed over 100 local residents and local officials to the new space. Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell and Carmel Town Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt in their opening remarks both reminisced about growing up in Carmel and spending many a day and night at the old Carmel Bowl and how excited they were that today's local residents have a new modern family entertainment center right in town.

Spins Bowl has spent the better part of the last 18 months renovating and remodeling. They removed several of the old lanes and replaced them with a modern game room. The old game room was removed and a cafe style seating area was put in its place as was a brand new bar area with more than a few choices of local and craft draft beers along with a full-service bar. The entire interior has been renovated and repainted in warm vibrant welcoming colors.

Mr. Diamond hired a new executive chef (Chef Abraham) who was a 2010 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and had been working several high-end restaurants in Baltimore and he stated he was excited to return to the Hudson Valley and start a new venture. He has introduced a whole new type of menu but included some everyday bowling alley staples such as mozzarella sticks and nachos along with hamburgers and fries.  He added new items such as Korean bbq chicken, crab cake sliders and chicken wraps to the menu.

The alleys have been redone with new electronic scorekeeping stations and large video screen monitors over every alley. The staff was very energetic and helpful and outgoing.  The Diamond Hospitality Group owns several other bowling alleys and entertainment ventures in the area including Spin Bowl in Wappingers Falls, Poughkeepsie, and Mount Kisco as well as Grand Prix Racing in Mt Kisco.
