Centennial Look Back WWI and NYS Women’s Suffrage Exhibit

The Southeast is Museum is excited to present two monumental exhibits at its Opening Saturday June 10 at 2:00PM.

In April 1917 The United States entered World War I; Putnam County residents answered the call and defended her nation’s allies gallantly.  The exhibit features military equipment, photographs, dog tags and letters from Brewster families.

In November 1917, New York State women were granted full suffrage, three years before the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution was ratified.  The exhibit includes documents on Temperance and the Woman’s Land Army with suffrage banners and Red Cross artifacts.

Join us Saturday June 10 for a catered Exhibit Opening and learn more about Southeast/Brewster’s role in these momentous two events.
