Historic Brewster Dioramas

“Historic Brewster Dioramas” Saturday, October 14, from 11 am-12 pm

When Walter Brewster, founder of the Village of Brewster, settled in this area he bought land, invited the NY and Harlem Railroad to extend its line to his new property and built a train depot, naming it “Brewster’s Station”. This benefited the dairy, lumber, mining and circus businesses and opened up the opportunity for people to travel to Putnam County. Children ages 8-11 are invited to build a diorama to represent their idea of what Brewster was like in 1849. Registration is required. This program will be held at the Southeast Museum, 67 Main Street. Shoeboxes will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring extras from home!
