Women's March on Washington January 21

The "Women's March on Washington" will take place on January 21st at 10am.

 

According to their website “In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.”

This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women's rights is welcome.

Coordinator, Maryanne Asta, suggests joining their Facebook group. "The March is just the beginning," Maryanne explained, "we encourage people to join the Facebook group to keep informed." Many meetings, activities and more are being planned.

This event has a global reach. According to the Huffington Post, "Three hundred national and international sister marches will join forces with the Women’s March on Washington (WMW) DC rally on Jan 21 — the day after the U.S. Presidential Inauguration — spanning nearly 80 cities in nearly 40 countries across six continents."
