Connecticut man charged with tampering with evidence following traffic stop in Brewster Village

On April 10, 2017, the New York State Police from Brewster arrested 25-year-old Alexander E. Orsher, of Wilton, Connecticut, for Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Orsher was arrested following a traffic stop conducted on Main Street in the Village of Brewster. While interviewing Orsher, Troopers observed a strong odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle, marihuana stuck in his teeth, and marihuana on his shirt.  When Troopers asked Orsher about their observations, he stated that he had eaten the marihuana cigarette to conceal it from law enforcement.  Troopers conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests on Orsher and it was discovered that he was impaired by drugs.

Orsher was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in the Village of Brewster Court on April 18, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.
