A large truck struck and pulled down power lines on Route 312 at about 11:30 this morning causing power outages in the area to approx 500 customers.
Power has been restored to most of those affected by 1:30 pm however crews are still on the scene replacing wires and a utility pole.
Route 312 is currently closed between Route 22 and Brewster Hill Road due to the work and is expected to re-open in about 4 to 6 hours.
The Brewster Central school District Transportation Office is aware of the road closure and is making the necessary arrangements to avoid the area. Most after school bus routes will experience delays this afternoon due to the road closure.
