Free training programs for CPR Awareness Week

Health Quest Community Education will offer three free training program sessions in June in honor of CPR Awareness Week.

The dates of the sessions are as follows:

• American Heart Association Friends & Family CPR AED Course, Tuesday, June 6, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY
• American Heart Association Friends & Family CPR AED Course, Wednesday, June 7, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck, NY
• American Heart Association Friends & Family CPR AED Course, Thursday, June 8, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY

The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the life-saving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child automated external defibrillator use, infant CPR with breaths, and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant.

Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the heart association’s research-proven, practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with hands-on CPR practice time.

Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not require a certification card in CPR for their job. This non-certification course is ideal for schools, community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. This course is NOT suitable for community professions that require a CPR certification card.

Preregistration is required as class size is limited. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis until all slots are filled. Text included.

Call 845-475-9742 (TTY 1-800-421-1220) to register.
