Editor's note: as of 4:40 pm the NY State DOT reports that the police have concluded their accident investigation and have re-opened all westbound lanes of I-84.
The New York State DOT has issued an alert that I-84 Westbound at I-684 is closed for an accident investigation. The road will be closed for approximately the next 4 hours while the NY State Police accident investigation team completes their work.
Motorists are urged to avoid the intersection at this time and to seek alternate routes for their evening commute.
