Senator Terrence Murphy is partnering with the Putnam County Office for Senior Resources and Putnam Hospital Center to sponsor a free Senior Health Fair at the William Koehler Memorial Senior Center. Local vendors will provide FREE health screenings and a wide array of services, including heart disease/stroke evaluations, blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings and nutrition consultations. In conjunction with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Senator Murphy will also sponsor a "Shed the Meds" program. Seniors can bring their unwanted or expired medications to the health fair for convenient and safe disposal.
"Our seniors are among our most precious and vital resources in the community. We want to continue to encourage their well-being by offering them a wide variety of health services. We will also have experts on hand who will be able to counsel them about any health issues they may already have," said Senator Murphy.
