State Police in Brewster investigate fatal construction accident

On October 4, 2017, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks, partnered with the Village of Brewster Police Department, responded to 899 Route 22, in the Village of Brewster, for an apparent construction accident.
 
An investigation revealed that at approximately 7:30 a.m., 52-year-old Keith P. Bonnes of Cortlandt Manor, had fallen approximately 15’-20’ from Hydro Mobile scaffolding.  A co-worker immediately contacted Putnam County 911 to report the incident.  Moments later, Brewster EMS, EMStar Ambulance, and the Village of Brewster Police arrived on scene to rendered medical assistance.  Bonnes reportedly sustained a head and chest injury as a result of the fall.  

The victim was transported to Danbury Hospital by EMStar and was reported to be conscious.
 
Upon his arrival to Danbury Hospital, the victim went into cardiac arrest and was subsequently pronounced deceased several hours following the accident.
 
The incident, which appears to be accidental in nature, remains under investigation. Additionally, Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
