Brewster Fire Department Gets New Devices to Aid with Cardiac Arrest Victims

Last night, Brewster Fire Department received training on their new Lucas Chest Compression System. Each of the two ambulances will be equipped with the system.

According to their website, the LUCAS® Chest Compression System is designed to help improve outcomes of sudden cardiac arrest victims and improve operations for medical responders. Performing 102 compressions per minute with a depth of 2.1 inches/53 mm, LUCAS can be deployed quickly with minimal interruption to patient care.

This will allow for guidelines-consistent compressions in the field, on the move and in the hospital.
