Bridgewater, CT – The Bridgewater Congregational Church’s sixth annual concert celebrating the history and evolution of rock music will be happening at 7:30 PM on Saturdays November 8 and November 15 at the Bridgewater Congregational Church.
Not for the faint-hearted, not a winsome church band, but a group of 12 full-on rockers embark each year on a musical journey from bluegrass and blues to R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, country, and current rock. While you’re having a blast listening to this great music, you won’t even realize that by the time you’re done, you’ve just had a lesson in music history. You’ll have to decide which you liked more: hearing old favorites or new hits you didn’t know about.
Tickets have just gone on sale and are already selling fast. People have found it easy to buy online at www.rootsrockrevue.com or by calling the church office at 860-354-8283. Doors open at 7:00 and the fun begins at 7:30. An after-party will follow the concert and is included in the price of the ticket. Plan to stay for the party as it’s become almost as famous as the concert itself for fine food, beer and wine.
The Revuers’ set list changes every year – exploring rock history along a slightly different path each time. This year, you’ll hear music from Muddy Waters, Hank Williams, and Ray Charles to Martha and the Vandellas, Sam Cooke, the Byrds and the Beatles, to U2, Bonnie Raitt, Tedeschi Trucks, Feist and plenty more you’ll have to go to find out about.
Tickets are $30 and can be held at the door once payment is received. Go online to www.rootsrockrevue.com, call the church at 860-354-8283, or send checks payable to The Bridgewater Congregational Church to PO Box 7, Bridgewater, CT 06752. Proceeds benefit the church. If you have questions or wish to purchase tickets in person the church office is open between 10:00 A.M. and noon weekdays and is located at the intersection of Clapboard Road and Main Street (Rt. 133) in the center of Bridgewater, Connecticut.
