Get creative with songwriting and TV screenwriting classes this fall at The Ridgefield Playhouse

So you've always wanted to write but never seem to get started. Fall classes at The Ridgefield Playhouse are for YOU.

You don’t have to play an instrument to write a song, in Songwriting with Kevin Briody you can take your poetry or thought and learn the elements of songwriting with the Emmy Award winner. Students will also have the opportunity to have a Q&A with artists in our upcoming Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer Songwriter Series! Award Winning Musician Kevin Briody will teach you how to structure songs, create “hooks,” craft lyrics, manipulate melody, rhythm and harmony, merge words with music, and write toward genre. Whether you favor pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, country, music, lyrics, or both, he’ll show you how to write songs that soar! The class meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., October 5 – November 30.

Do you have a great idea for a TV series? Is your life a TV series? Studios and networks are always looking for the next “Game of Thrones,” “Scandal,” or “Modern Family.” They are hungry for original TV shows! Katie Torpey’s TV Screenwriting Workshop will teach you how to create, develop and write an original TV show! Katie Torpey - an award-winning WGA Screenwriter / Filmmaker with a MFA from UCLA School of Film and Television will help students create, develop and write original TV shows that they could potentially sell to Hollywood!
