Supermoon Rising

Keep your head to the night sky tonight to witness the last supermoon of the year. A supermoon is said to occur when a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit.

The practical effect of this astronomical phenomena is very high tides, and a spectacular view of our closest celestial neighbor. It is typically 15 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon.

So, grab your "scopes" dust off your DSLRs and prepare for the "photo opp"!!
