Brookfield Student Inducted Into Communications Honor Society at WestConn

Fifteen undergraduate students at Western Connecticut State University have received recognition for their superior achievement in communication and general academic studies with their induction this spring into Lambda Pi Eta, the collegiate honor society of the National Communication Association.

The 2016 inductees into the WCSU Beta Iota chapter of Lambda Pi Eta include juniors and seniors who have achieved grade point averages of 3.0 or higher for all academic courses and 3.25 or higher for all communication courses during their studies at Western. Lambda Pi Eta seeks to foster and reward outstanding academic work while stimulating student interest in the field of communication studies. Associate Professor of Communication and Media Arts Dr. Jay Brower serves as faculty adviser to the Beta Iota chapter, founded in 1992.

The chapter formally inducted the students during a ceremony celebrated with faculty, family and friends on May 3 in the President’s Room at the Westside Classroom Building on the university’s Westside campus in Danbury. This year’s inductees, who hold lifetime membership in Lambda Pi Eta, are:

Rebecca Antonaccio, Emilia Dabrowski and Grace Robles, all of Danbury; Victoria Ferreira and Alexandra Zor, both of Bethel; Bianca Bennett, of Brookfield; Catherine Faus, of Lakeville; Denzel Odiase, of Norwalk; Kaleigh Cragan, of Oxford; Kyle Kloiber, of Redding; Robert Phillips and Michelle Spanedda, both of Sandy Hook; Daniel Palmieri, of Seymour; Mary Reyes, of Stamford; and Kathleen Kelly, of Stratford.
