Dorothy Pearl Palmer

October 02, 1928 - April 10, 2014

Dorothy Pearl Palmer, 85, of Brookfield, daughter of the late Sydney and Alerieda (Bungay) Hancock, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Mason Masonic Care, Newtown. She was born on October 2, 1928 in Newfoundland, Canada. Dorothy worked at the Danbury Newstimes and Danbury Printing and Litho for many years. She was an active member of AARP. She also enjoyed gardening, playing music, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

She will be sadly missed by her children Linda Richard and her husband Dan of Danbury; Robert Palmer of New Milford; Debra Pieplow and her husband Timothy of New York; Joseph Palmer of Newtown; four grandchildren Katie and Jennifer Richard, Blake and Brett Palmer; sister Allie Marsh; brother Harold Hancock and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her brother, Ronald Hancock; and her sisters Susie FiField, Ethel Warren.

Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, on Tuesday, April 15th at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Brookfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the funeral services between 11:00 -12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
