Local pets have their own HamletHub!

Newtown, CT. [September 7, 2014] – HamletHub.com a pioneering network of 'hyperlocal' websites providing locally originated news and information to communities has launched its newest hyperlocal site specifically devoted to local pets and animal lovers, the company announced today.

With a full roster of sites covering most of Fairfield County Connecticut, and Westchester County New York, HamletHub has added Animals Matter to its roster of hyperlocal news sites, and is proud to announce that Newtown resident, Adria L. Henderson, has agreed to become the editor.

"We are thrilled to have a “Hub” created and designed with local pets and animal advocates in mind," said Kerry Anne Ducey, the company's founder and president. "Adria is the creator of Animals Matter – News, a Facebook page posting all things related to the animal and pet care world and with over 11,000 readers, she has truly discovered the need for a platfrom to share those very important pet stories and events,” adds Ducey.

HamletHub launched the first local news "Hub" in Ridgefield in 2009 with a mission to make the world better, one HamletHub at a time. HamletHub won a prestigious Connecticut Press Club Award in 2012, 2013 and took home 6 awards in 2014 including "Best Website".

Hamlethub sites differ from other media outlets based on their focus on the needs of the community — its residents as well as the organizations and businesses that make up the fabric of the town. Animals Matter HamletHub offers a unique opportunity for these groups to have a voice in their community, either by submitting articles to the site as a local resident, or by participating in the site's unique Article Membership service for businesses, giving them an unprecedented opportunity to tell their story and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

Adria L. Henderson was born in New York City and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Queens College of the City University of New York. Henderson was a licensed private investigator in Connecticut for more than 20 years.

Henderson has written extensively on the subject of animal behavior and care, pet and wildlife legislation and the environment and was the author of a monthly pet column for The Newtown Bee, Patch.com and a feature writer for The Pet Gazette of New York and Fairfield County.

She has lived and worked in the Newtown, CT area for more than 38 years where she currently shares her home two rescued dogs, two rescued cats, three rescued parrots and three parakeets.
