Rep. David Scribner Encourages Local Sponsorship for the Hat City Ball

DANBURY – Rep. David Scribner (R-107) reminds residents to mark their calendars for Friday, the 16th of January 2015 for the Danbury Museum & Historical Society Hat City Ball at the Amber Room Colonnade.

This event celebrates the preservation of Danbury’s history in hatting (especially through the Dodd Hat Shop) by the Danbury Museum & Historical Society. It is a wonderful sponsorship and advertising opportunity for various levels of local corporations and small businesses. Anyone who would like to show their support for the hatting industry by sponsoring this event is encouraged to Click here to register.

“I am happy to see the city of Danbury come together to celebrate the past whilst creating new opportunities for the future,” said Rep. Scribner. “The preservation of our historic town and signature trade is important to the foundation of our community, but we must also allow for businesses today to thrive and contribute to strengthening this state’s staggering economy. I hope all local entrepreneurs will take advantage of this occasion to advertise for regional goods and services, as well as to celebrate Danbury’s historic success in hatting.”

For more information, such as which items are expected at the live auction and how to purchase tickets, please visit the Danbury Museum website and click on the “Hat City Ball”
tab at the top of the homepage.
