Brookfield Resident, Dean Lewis, has passed away unexpectedly at 57

Dean Lindale Lewis, age 57, of Brookfield, CT died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 26, 2015 on Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

He was born in Queens, NY, September 26, 1957, son of the late John Howard and Jean Audrey (Knauff) Lewis. He grew up in Syosset, Long Island, NY and was a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point.  He co-founded and ran a ship brokerage business “Planet Shipping” with partner Holger DeBuhr for 20 years.  He then graduated Quinnipiac Law School in 2002 and established his law practice in Danbury in 2003.  He was licensed to practice law in Connecticut, New York and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He was a member of the “Flying Twenties Club” and was a member of the Connecticut and New York Bar Associations.  He loved to ride his motorcycle and often traveled to bike weeks at Sturgis and Daytona.  He loved boating on the Jersey shore and Candlewood Lake with his family and friends.  His most recent passion was flying along the coast with his partner Donna. 

He is survived by his partner: Donna M. Pellerin, of Brookfield; sons: Justin M. Lewis and his wife Jennifer of Bethel, CT, Adam Dean Lewis and his fiancée Jennifer DiBiase of Milford, CT; daughter: Heather M. Sica and her husband Jason T. Sica of Edwards, CO; three sisters, Carol Slack and her husband Robert of East Islip, NY, Jayne O’Toole and her husband David of Melville, NY, Joan Mitchell and her husband William of Westhampton, NY; three grandchildren: Aubrey Lewis, Austin Lewis and Jayden Sica.  He was a beloved uncle and cousin to many.

The funeral will be held at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division Street, Danbury, CT on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT. 

The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
