Barry Michael Klein, 87, of Brookfield, has died

Barry M. Klein

Barry Michael Klein, 87, of Brookfield, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Barry was born on June 1, 1929 to Sally and Bernie Klein in Queens, NY. He served in the Navy before settling with his wife and family on Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, CT. For 60 years, he served his community and was a local businessman. He could sell anything and easily put a smile on the faces of those he met. He was generous, quirky, loving and kind and will always be remembered for his silly t-shirts and one-liners. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband; father, brother, uncle and poppy. Barry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nancy Ackerman Klein; his children, Laurie, Russ (wife Kristen), and Amy (husband Scott); his brother, James, and sister-in-law, Dorothy; his five nieces and their families and grandchildren: Kyle and Kelsey, Bryce and Katie, Jeremy, Hannah, and Sage. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all whose lives he touched around the world.

Services were private.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut (BIAC), 200 Day Hill Rd., Suite 250; Windsor, CT 06095
Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
