Women's Center to Honor Ingersoll Auto at 2018 Gala

Women’s Center of Greater Danbury  (WCOGD) Announces Save-the-Date and Honoree Ingersoll Auto for Spring 2018 annual fundraising dinner, An Evening Together, slated for Friday, April 6, Danbury's Amber Room Colonnade.

2018 Event Co-Chairs and Women’s Center Board members Vicki Taylor-Bloch, Owner, At Home Design and Abigail Miranda, Esq., Associate, Cramer & Anderson, LLP and event committee members throughout the region are busy securing event sponsors, program advertisers, and donations for auction items as well as selling tables and individual tickets now for one of the area’s most highly attended and anticipated events of the spring season.

“Given the current news cycle our issues are in the forefront every day: sexual assault and abuse claims against celebrities, politicians and others: the #metoo movement revealing sexual harassment or abuse. As a result, more and more people are seeking our help. As the only state certified agency in the 13 communities we serve, the Women’s Center stands ready to meet the increased need,” offered Taylor-Bloch.

The Women’s Center is pleased to announce that Ingersoll Automotive will be the recipient of this year’s coveted Founders Award. Todd Ingersoll and his team work tirelessly to support the community, and many of the beneficiaries of their generosity are also people and communities who receive services and/or programming from the Women’s Center.

“People are searching for how they can take action in the midst of all the dialogue. We’re here to talk about it, and translate that desire into action,” added Miranda. “Honoring Ingersoll Auto is a move towards celebrating with other community partners who are committed to doing good works locally and connecting in kind, compassionate, effective ways.”

In addition to a musical presentation from a local youth choir, the evening will also play host to the profound presentation of the scheduled speaker, author of A Child’s Voice, Michelle Pranger.  “Kindness has the power to change not one, but many lives.”

The Friday evening dinner provides a fresh break from the more formal Saturday night fundraiser gala rotation, an intentional move kept to on the part of organizers. “We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s event and are grateful to the many corporations, businesses, organizations and individuals who have and continue to so generously support us in our mission of working to end the violence,” shared Women’s Center President & CEO Patricia Zachman, who will be celebrated that evening for her laudable 25 years of committed service.
