Blithe Spirit Opens September 12

Noel Coward’s classic farce about life & the after-life: "A bit like a cross between Monty Python & Downton Abbey." The play begins when a writer, Charles Condomine, decides to hold a seance as research for a new book. An amusing evening takes an unwitting turn when the ghost of his ex-wife appears. Charles is startled by the apparition. His new wife has a different reaction.....

"Blithe Spirit" was written and originally performed during the London Blitz (WWII) and was an instant success. Its send up of death and the spirit world appealed to the war weary British. The play continues to resonate in the current day as witnessed by the recent revivals on both sides of the Atlantic. With physical comedy and sharp wit, Coward leads the audience from a simple dinner party to a world of chaos where nothing is as it seems.

Erik Tonner returns to TBTA to direct Noel Coward’s classic farce after last year's successful run of "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". Due to work commitments, Erik has joined forces with co-director Rebecca Pokorski. The result is a perfect blend to bring all of Coward's original acerbic wit to life. Rebecca’s extensive theater experience has been a true asset to the production.

"Blithe Spirit" stars: John Thompson as Charles Condomine, Dianna Waller as Ruth, Susan King as Madame Arcati, Emily Seibert as Elvira, Desirae Carle as Edith, Eric Greenfeld as Dr. Bradman, and Barbara Disraeli as Mrs. Bradman.
