Prepared to Screen and Isolate Patients Should They Need Our Help
Leadership at the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) wants to reassure our patients and community that we have been preparing for Ebola since August and are fully committed to keeping our patients, staff and community safe. We have no confirmed or suspicious Ebola cases at any of our hospitals and we are confident in our readiness to screen and isolate any suspected patient.
Staff awareness and education have been ongoing and more intensive training for front-line staff is underway. As with any potentially transmissible illness, we follow evidence based clinical protocols and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We have the skilled staff, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to isolate and manage potentially infectious patients, and we are prepared to manage Ebola should we encounter this very serious illness in our community.
