AuthorsLive at Greenwich Library

AuthorsLive with Mary V. Dearborn at Greenwich Library (Meeting Room) on Tuesday, May 23 at 7:00 pm.

Meet Mary V. Dearborn, author of the first full biography of Hemingway in more than fifteen years. A revelatory look into the life and work of the winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize in Literature; a rich and nuanced portrait of a complex, enigmatic American artist, whose seven novels and six short story collections informed–and are still informing–fiction writing generations after his death.

Dearborn will discuss the extensive research she undertook for Ernest Hemingway: A Biography

The author draws upon a massive cache of papers Hemingway left behind when he fled his Cuban farm in 1961; his complete FBI file, detailing his wartime experience in pursuit of German submarines in the Caribbean; the recently opened KGB archive of American activities connecting Hemingway to the KGB as a "recruitment"; Hemingway family papers and more.
