Open Juried Show Starts This Week at Bendheim Gallery in Greenwich

The Art Society of Greenwich has an event kicking off this week which is sure to excite artists not only from Greenwich but throughout Connecticut.

The Open Juried Show at the Bendheim Gallery begins Wednesday, July 23rd and runs through Thursday, August 14th. Open both to members and non-members, this show will be judged by Joel Popadics, a prominent watercolorist and teacher. Mr. Popadics has had numerous one-man shows, and his work has appeared in exhibitions at the National Academy of Design, American Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Club in NYC and other prominent organizations across the country.

For entries, the following media categories will be accepted: oil, acrylics, watercolor, photography, graphics, pastel, sculpture, other media. The award for 1st place is $100, and the awards for 2nd, 3rd and HM will be ribbons.

RECEIVING: Saturday, July 19: 10:00 - 12:00 Noon
PICK-UP (unaccepted): Monday, July 21: 4:00 - 6:00 PM
RECEPTION: Friday, July 25: 6:00 - 8:00 PM
PICK-UP OF ALL WORKS: Thursday, August 14: 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon

Entry Requirements

- Three entries at $15.00 each. All area artists welcome.
- Work must be properly framed and WIRED for hanging. All works must be for sale.
- Original art only — no reproductions.
- Size Limit: 5' x 5.' Sculptors must supply their own bases.
- No wall sculpture allowed.
- Greenwich Arts Council takes 30% commissions on sales.

Wondering what a Juried Show is?

"The annotation 'juried' means you must submit slides or photographs which are reviewed by a jury (a knowledgeable committee) and your work will be accepted into the show based on technical skill, creativity, the medium, and/or other requirements."
