Locals Invited to Enter Grandma's Family Recipe Contest

First Annual Grandma’s Family Recipe Contest Sponsored By STEPS Home Care and the Garden Education Center

“Somehow we have to get older people back close to growing children if we are to restore a sense of community, a knowledge of the past, and a sense of the future.”   Margaret Mead

Mother’s Day is almost here and provides a great reason to connect grandmothers with their grandchildren by entering the STEPS Home Care and Garden Education Center of Greenwich (GEC) Grandma’s Family Recipe Contest. Grandmothers and grandchildren will work together to choose a special family recipe to share, prepare and be judged by a panel of local chefs.

Greenwich grandchildren and grandmothers, wherever they may reside, are invited to enter the “Grandma’s Family Recipe Contest” and share their original, special recipe. The only requirement is that the recipe must contain some healthful fruit or vegetables. Anyone can help prepare the recipe if Grandma is unable to do so.

Participants have a chance to win a Grand Prize of a $100 gift card along with bragging rights to friends and family in a featured Mother’s Day social media post.  In addition, a collective recipe cookbook will be published and available for pre-sale at the May Gardeners Market.
