Letter: Greenwich Helps in Hurricane Relief - Undies Donations Required

Dear Cos Cob Community,

Seeing the devastation that the recent hurricanes have caused to the people in Texas and Florida we feel the need to extend our help to ease their misfortune. The Greenwich community has always showed its solidarity when it comes to moments of crisis. With your help, The Undies Project, a local nonprofit based in Cos Cob whose mission is to collect and distribute underwear to those in need, would like to start a collection of NEW underwear to send to the hurricane victims.

We are looking for donations of closed packages of NEW underwear for men, women and children in all sizes. Donations can be dropped off at:

Inside The Armoire (45 E. Putnam Ave, Greenwich) now through to September 24th

Cos Cob Fire Station this Saturday, September 16th 12-4pm (rear parking lot)

Puttin' on the Dog Show this Sunday, September 17th at Roger Sherwin Baldwin Park 10-4:30pm

Both Saturday and Sunday The Undies Project will have a table and a collection bin.

To facilitate distribution to those individuals in need we are working with a non profit organization, called Undies For Everyone, based in Houston, and we are currently looking for an organization in Florida. Undies For Everyone is already working on the effort to bring clean new underwear to those in the local shelters.

We are also asking for any help with transportation or with the cost of delivering the undies to the affected areas.

We are hoping we can all come together and once more show how generous our community is. Thank you for your help supporting the families that have been impacted by Hurricanes Harvey & Irma.
