Lots to See & Do at Bruce Museum This Summer

Greenwich, CT - With the popular Sharks! exhibition on view at its Science Gallery through September 1, the Bruce Museum also has an array of related programs, including two Bruce Explorers drop-in programs, on July 28 and August 18, for young scientists interested in doing hands-on activities and research about sharks. There’s an evening science lecture, “The Comeback of the Great White Shark in our Backyard”, on Tuesday, July 16 at the Bruce, as well as a screening of the documentary “Sharkwater Extinction” at the Bruce Museum Seaside Center on Sunday, July 7. That afternoon program, which includes related family activities, is part of the Museum's First Sunday Sciences Series, and will be followed by the presentation “The Last of the Shark Hunters: How Trophy Fishermen Pushed Science into Action” on Sunday, August 4.

The Bruce Museum is also pleased to offer two recurring art workshops this summer, both drawing from artistic themes and techniques on view in the Museum’s stellar Summer with the Averys [Milton | Sally | March]exhibition. On Monday, July 15, and August 5, Dr. Louise Flax leads Watercolor Workshops for Seniors. And the Museum's summer artist in residence, Milena Alvarez, is the host of Bruce Creates, a drop-in workshop for artists of all ages and abilities. More about the scheduled Bruce Creates workshops may be found at brucemuseum.org.
