
National Merit Scholarship Corporation Announces 2025 College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship Winners
(Evanston, Illinois) — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced over 2,900 winners of college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. These scholarships are financed by U.S. colleges and universities and awarded to Finalists who plan to attend the sponsoring institutions.
Among this year's recipients is Anselm Juan of Danbury, a senior at Wooster School, who has been awarded the National Merit Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Scholarship. He lists Mathematics as his probable career field.
In total, 146 colleges and universities are underwriting these Merit Scholarship awards. This year’s sponsors include 74 private and 72 public institutions across 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Including today’s announcement, more than 6,930 high school seniors have earned National Merit Scholarships in 2025, with a combined total of nearly $26 million in scholarship funding. Earlier this spring, NMSC released the names of recipients of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarships and National Merit $2500 Scholarships.
