eBooks on April 1st (This is no joke!)

Danbury Public Library is excited to announce the launch of their eBook collection on April 1st. Utilizing the "3M™ Cloud Library" service, you'll be able to borrow books from your computer, tablet, Smartphone or eReader. Here's the scoop:

What's in our starter collection?
Due to the higher prices charged to libraries for eBooks, sometimes triple what the retail price is, the library's starter collection will focus on bestsellers, urban fiction and classics. Titles include The Game of Thrones Series by George R. Martin, My Beloved World by Sonja Sotomayor and Forever a Hustle's Wife by Nikki Turner. Purchasing eBooks is tricky because some popular titles are not available for us to purchase since the publishing houses are restricting library purchases. Subject areas will be added as funding allows.

How many can you check out?
One book, per customer at a time. Books that are already checked out can be requested (3 maximum).

What is the lending time?
Each book is checked out for 2 weeks. At the end of the 2 weeks, it will automatically disappear from your device.

What devices can you download to?
You can download the same book to your phone, computer and tablet at the same time.

How do you get started?
Starting on April 1st, go to danburylibrary.org, click on "eBooks" and follow the instructions. You can also bring your device to the library and the staff will gladly assist you.

Have fun and let the staff know what you think of the new service by leaving a "How are we doing?" comment form in the library or email Scott Jarzombek at sjarzombek@danburylibrary.org.
