Rock & roll maverick Todd Rundgren stops at The Ridgefield Playhouse on his Greatest Hits Tour, Saturday, August 3

Todd Rundgren, a legendary member of Rock royalty who pioneered progressive rock and introduced the classics "I Saw The Light", "Hello, It's Me", "Bang The Drum All Day" and "It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference", brings his iconic sound back to the Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, August 3, at 8 p.m., where his last two shows sold out! Rundgren's band includes Jesse Gress, Kasim Sulton, Prairie Prince and John Ferenzik. They'll cover Rundgren's career highlights and more in this Guinness Black Lager Rock Series event. The Bayou North (109 Danbury Rd., Ridgefield) is offering a free cocktail when ticket/stub is presented; kitchen is open until 11 p.m. Media sponsor is i95.5fm The Home of Rock 'n' Roll.
As a songwriter, video pioneer, producer, recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist, and interactive artist, Rundgren has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music. In addition to being a gifted songwriter/singer, Rundgren is at the core a rock & roll craftsman. In the twenty years following the mass appeal he experienced in the '70s, Rundgren brought forth a body of work that ranks as one of the most intriguing in rock & roll. He released up to two albums a year either as a solo artist or with his band Utopia, while producing acclaimed records for a variety of artists including Meatloaf, Badfinger, Grand Funk Railroad and XTC, supporting the fact that Rundgren's musicality has range and depth.
For tickets ($62), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or order online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
