United Way of Western Connecticut CEO Named Member of National ALICE Advisory Council

 

United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) is proud to announce that Kim Morgan, CEO of UWWC, has been named a board member of the National ALICE Advisory Council. The National ALICE Advisory Council is a body of corporate and national organizations convened to elevate ALICE’s voice to a national level. United Way identifies ALICE® (AssetLimited, Income Constrained, Employed) as a population that in many cases works multiple jobs, but cannot make ends meet. TheALICE Advisory Council provides a forum for sharing experiences, developing best practices, and building innovative strategies to stabilize ALICE households. 

The National ALICE Advisory Council seeks to:

-        Stimulate national dialogue, raising awareness and consciousness of this important issue

-        Strengthen and unify organizations supporting ALICE 

-        Inspire action (corporate policy, public policy, individual action)

-        Engage new entities, with varying perspectives, to strengthen the efforts around ALICE

“We are thrilled that Kim has been named to this Council,” said Cynthia Merkle, Board Chair, UWWC’s Board of Directors. “Her appointment is a testament to the work that United Way of Western Connecticut has done in the past two years to increase awareness of households in our communities living paycheck to paycheck. We know Kim will add to this national discussion and learn a great deal from her involvement on this Council. Her participation will ultimately benefit our communities through leveraging of resources to address challenges faced by this population.”
