Give a gift to Fairfield County’s Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education in the name of a friend for Valentine’s Day this year, and the charity will send him or her a special Heart of Gold canvas tote bag and a card letting them know that someone - you - thinks that he/she has a heart of gold, and that the gift given in their name goes a long way toward helping the neediest families, adults and children of Fairfield County.
“What better way to tell someone you think they have a heart of gold than by giving to others in their name?” said Richard T. Stone, Executive Director for The Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education. “It’s win-win! And what better time than Valentine’s Day?”
The special Heart of Gold tote bag is free with a tax-deductible donation of $100 while supplies last, and can be ordered online here. You are can order up to 10 at one time via the Foundation’s secure website; order by February 9th and the Foundation will be sure to send your friends their Valentines and tote bags in time for Valentine’s Day.
The Inner-City Foundation helps the neediest residents of Fairfield County by supporting local organizations providing opportunities for education, both child and adult, as well as food, shelter, professional services and help and counseling for addiction, recovery and domestic violence. Now in their 25th year, the Foundation hopes that this year’s special Valentine’s Day promotion will generate funds to get them closer to their 25th year goal of raising $2.5 million this year, twice what they normally raise in a year. They’re about halfway there, according to Stone.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to our help us celebrate our 25th anniversary at our gala with Harry Connick, Jr. last November” says Stone. “But we’re still actively seeking donations. We have a long way to go to meet our 25th year goal. Need is up in Fairfield County, it’s not all gold coast — 28 percent of the residents in Fairfield county today can’t meet the basic cost of living, and we support dozens of organizations every year that are out there in the trenches every day providing the most basic services for the neediest members of our community.”
