Show off your child and help wounded military from Connecticut

The annual Connecticut Beautiful Baby Photo Contest is currently seeking photos of children newborn – 4 years old. This is a yearly fundraiser for a young soldier returning with life-altering injuries to receive a handicap house through the non-profit Homes for Our Troops. Entry fee is a tax-deductible $10 check made payable to "Homes for Our Troops.

This is a PHOTO contest NOT a live pageant. The photos go on a wooden voting booth that will be at various Newtown locations. The public votes by inserting money or checks made payable to “Homes for Our Troops” into the piggybank slit above the phot of the child they are voting for.  The child whose photo raises the most amount of money wins.  100% of the money raised will be donated to HFOT.
          

The winner rides in the Newtown Labor Day Parade as the “Beautiful Baby Winner” in a chauffeur-driven convertible sent by Mercedes of Danbury.  Children need not live in Newtown to enter or win.
           

This year's money will be earmarked for two Marines from Connecticut.  Marine Staff Sgt Liam Dwyer from Southbury lost a leg in Afghanistan.  He has severe phantom leg pain and cannot wear a prosthetic for long periods of time due to pain.  Marine Cpl Roger Rua Naugatuck has a traumatic brain injury and was shot through the spine, making walking difficult and painful. 
If you have a cute photo of a beautiful and happy baby please enter it in this friendly competition that will help one of our young veterans live out their life as comfortably as possible.

Please send a $10 check made payable to “Homes for Our Troops” and a nonreturnable 4” X 4” photo (cut a 4 x 6) with the child’s first name and contact phone # and email address written clearly on the back to:

Homes for Our Troops is a non-profit 301 C-3 that builds free custom homes for severely wounded military personnel.  They consistently get the highest rating of 4 stars from watchdog charity groups.
