Danbury HS Marching Band Jamboree on Saturday at WCSU

The Danbury High School Marching Band will host the 2017 Danbury Marching Band Jamboree on October 21st, 2017 from 6pm to 10pm at the Western Connecticut State University Westside Campus Western Athletic Complex. The new location is due to the massive construction project at Danbury High School.

“This event brings bands from throughout the region to perform live in Danbury,” said Ted Adams, Director of Bands, Danbury High School. “The Jamboree has a long history of bringing some of the area’s most outstanding marching ensembles to perform for the people of Danbury, and this year is no different. With the outstanding facilities here at WestConn this event will have many fabulous performances. The Danbury High School Marching Band will perform our 2017 show, ‘A Heart’s Journey,’ highlighting several soloists from our band.”

Bands from the region scheduled to compete include Bethel, Brookfield, Newtown, New Fairfield, New Milford, Norwalk, and Shelton, plus bands from Garden City and Port Chester, NY. The Danbury Drum Corps will be giving a featured exhibition performance, and the Danbury High School Marching Band will perform their 2017 program, “A Heart’s Journey,” in exhibition.

Gates open at 5pm and tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for kids (kids under 3 are free), and $5 for Western CT State University Students. In case of inclement weather the competition will be moved into the O’Neill Center.

Tickets are available at the gate or are available online at danburyhsmarchingband.yapsody.com .
