Danbury Hospital’s Praxair Cancer Center Sponsors the Cancer Project’s Cooking and Nutrition Classes at Ann’s Place

The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital will sponsor the Cancer Project’s cooking and nutrition classes at Ann’s Place, 80 Saw Mill Road in Danbury.  The series of four classes are free for cancer patients and anyone interested in learning about healthy living and cancer prevention.  Attendance at all four classes is strongly recommended and intended for people age 18 and older.

The Food for Life classes offer a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about the link between diet and our health, experience the benefits of plant-based nutrition, and learn about the practical cooking skills needed to help you on your journey to better health. Participants will also enjoy a cooking demonstration and taste delicious, healthful dishes. Books and DVDs will be made available for purchase.

The Food for Life Cancer Project’s cooking and nutrition classes will take place from 12 to 2:15 p.m. on the following dates:

  • October 29th:      Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer
  • November 5th:     Fueling Up on Low-Fat, High Fiber Foods
  • November 12th:   Discovering Dairy and Meat Alternatives
  • November 19th:   Cancer-Fighting Compounds and Healthy Weight Control
