Tick- borne disease prevention expert and Ridgefield resident Neeta Connally PhD, will present best-practice strategies for staying safe while continuing to enjoy the great outdoors with your family on Thursday, April 28 at Ridgefield Library.

Dr. Connally is an Assistant Biology Professor at Western Connecticut State University and Director of the Tick Research Lab at WCSU.  She is also scientific adviser for Ridgefield's BLAST Prevention Program.

Kate Fitzpatrick, of Kate Fitzpatrick Social Media & Public Relations Consulting, will officially launch our Social Media Prevention Campaign exclusively designed for Lyme Connection by Discovery Communications. Bring your smartphones to share the campaign!

This program is part of Building a Model Community Response to End Lyme Disease, a new initiative developed by Ridgefield based Lyme Connection, SmartRevenue, and the Ridgefield Library, with support from Western Connecticut Health Network, to promote Lyme disease prevention and to provide greater understanding of the seriousness of the disease among all community members.  Our efforts are focused on aligning and leveraging a wide range of public and private resources to create a quantifiable model that can be emulated by other communities.
