Danbury Hospital Praxair Cancer Center Offers Free Skin Cancer Screenings
10 Minutes Can Save Your Life

The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital will host free skin cancer screenings on Tuesday, May 17th from 6 to 8 pm and Wednesday, May 18th from 6 to 8 pm.  Danbury area board-certified dermatologists will conduct the screenings, with support from clinical and allied health staff.  The public is invited and encouraged to take advantage of this free service.  The Praxair Cancer Center is located at 95 Locust Avenue in Danbury, CT.

There is no pre-registration required.  The skin cancer screenings will be on a first come, first served basis.  To ensure that you will be seen, please plan to arrive by 7:45 pm.  Screening participants are asked to park in the Red Parking Garage on Locust Avenue and enter through the Danbury Hospital Stroock Building Entrance.  If you have questions, please call 203-739-7898.

Skin cancer screening is encouraged if you have risk factors for skin cancer, never had your skin checked for skin cancer, and want to learn more about preventing or recognizing skin cancer.

Risk factors for skin cancer include fair skin that freckles or burns easily, blond or red hair, blue/green/gray eyes, personal or family history of skin cancer, high sun exposure, multiple sunburns (especially at an early age), use of tanning beds or sun lamps, and high number of moles.

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States.  It is treatable if found early, making early detection so very important.

Take advantage of the opportunity to benefit from this preventive health screening conducted by board-certified dermatologists.  Please note – these are screenings only, no treatment will be provided.
