Find out why RMACT cares so much about PCOS

Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) isn’t just a fertility center, we also treat adults and adolescents with polycystic ovarian syndrome (commonly referred to as PCOS).

Why do we care so much about PCOS?  Here's five simple reasons:

  1. PCOS is the number one cause of infertility or sub-fertility in women.
  2. PCOS is often diagnosed later in life than it needs to be.
  3. PCOS can be managed well with lifestyle changes and choices and/or medication.
  4. PCOS has a great prognosis in improving quality of life and successful pregnancies.
  5. Earlier awareness leads to better health.

According to The Office on Women's Health (an arm of the US Department of health and Human Services) "Between 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 women of childbearing age has PCOS. As many as 5 million women in the United States may be affected. It can occur in girls as young as 11 years old."

This common condition should be diagnosed and treated early.  Please click here to make an appointment for a consultation at RMACT.

When looking at women's health, PCOS is one important, and often overlooked, piece to be considered.
