Wooster Student Sapphira Ching Nationally Ranked in USA Fencing

Wooster 6th grader, Sapphira Ching from Wilton, CT, is nationally ranked in USA Fencing.

According to USA Fencing (Rolling Point Standing), Sapphy is ranked #1 Youth 10 Women Sabre in New England, #5 in Northeast, and #13 in USA.

Sapphy just started fencing competitively this September and has completed 6 tournaments with 8 events and collected 3 silver medals. In the most recent national tournament - Steve Sobel Super Youth Cup held in Jersey City where fencers flew in from the West Coast, Canada, and Mexico, Sapphy started the tournament as a 23rd seed and finished with a 9th rank.
