This Saturday, October 17, more than 25 volunteers from Charter Communications will roll up their sleeves in New Milford as part of the company's philanthropic initiative - providing critical home repairs to low-income homeowners. Charter our Community is a program that seeks to improve 25,000 homes in the Charter footprint by 2020.
Together with Rebuilding Together Litchfield County, the local affiliate of Charter our Community’s national partner Rebuilding Together, Charter will rebuild two homes in the Fort Hill neighborhood of New Milford.
“Charter Communications and Rebuilding Together will be providing critical home repairs to the Reed and Robinson families – offering them the relief, support and assistance they need to alleviate the effects these past years’ burdens have had on their homes,” explains Heidi Vandenbrouck, Senior Communications Manager at Charter Communications.
Charter is thankful to the local businesses that have lent their expertise to helping the Reed family and Charter over the course of the past 6 to 7 weeks - either through a significant price reduction in supplies or by donating their time and talent:
- New Milford Septic
- Quality Tree
- Septic Tank Manufacturer
- H H Taylor
- Patterson Plumbing Supply
- Fairway Mechanical
- Livezey Carpentry LLC
- Neves Plumbing
- Eastern Water Solutions
- Mitchell Oil
The Charter our Community program was created to improve the lives of residents in need while offering opportunities for Charter employees to take an active role in strengthening the communities where they live and work. Since launching in late 2014, Charter our Community has improved more than 400 homes.
“This is our second Charter our Community initiative in Connecticut, and our employees are excited to join the talented Rebuilding Together team of skilled contractors and local volunteers to make a long-lasting impact in our community,” explained Alex Dudley, Senior Vice President, Communications at Charter.
