Ridgefielder & Immaculate High School senior Jenna Gasparrini runs her way to Class S State championship

 

Ridgefield resident Jenna Gasparrini, a senior at Immaculate High School in Danbury, won the Class S state championship in the girls 3,200 meter race for the second consecutive year on Friday at Hillhouse High School in New Haven. Her winning time  was 11:08.87, more that 15 seconds faster than last year’s winning time. (Read our interview with Gasparrini, “What Fuels Immaculate High School Senior Jenna Gasparrini” here.)

According to Immaculate High School, this is the fifth consecutive year an Immaculate runner has earned the Class S gold or silver medal in the girls 3,200.

Gasparrini also placed third in the 1,600 and third in 4x800 relay with her team which included sisters Diana Kirkman, Victoria Kirkman, and Danielle Marcone.

Mustang boys Christian Morris placed second in the 600 and Ryan McFarland earned fourth in the high jump.

During the fall cross country season, Gasparrini earned an "All New England" title, finishing #10 among runners from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine.

Immaculate High School Cross Country and Track & Field teams are coached by Brian Hayes.
