York L. Fulmore, longtime Danbury resident & former employee of Perkin Elmer, has died

York L. Fulmore

York L. Fulmore, 80, of Danbury, husband of Mary (Heard) Fulmore, died on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Fulmore was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, May 15, 1936, a son of Hugh and Jennie (May) Fulmore. He attended Williamsburg County schools.

A resident of Danbury for the past sixty years, Mr. Fulmore was a retired employee of the Perkin Elmer Corporation.

He was a member of the St. James’ African Methodist Episcopal Church of Danbury.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fulmore is survived by a son, Curtis Heard of Danbury; two sisters; two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

The Going Home Service will take place on Tuesday, at 12 noon in St. James’ A.M.E. Church 45 William St., Danbury.

Interment will follow in Section Two of Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at St. James’ Church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to the time of service.

Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
