Danbury resident & longtime employee of Ullman Devices in Ridgefield - Amal Antonios has died

AMAL ANTONIOS

Amal (Nejm) Antonios, 70, of Danbury, wife of Nazih Antonios, died on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Antonios was born in Lebanon, May 19, 1946, daughter of Esber and Nabiha (Bitar) Nejm.

She migrated from Lebanon with her family in 1990 and settled in Danbury, CT. Mrs. Antonios was a mathematics instructor prior to her marriage to Nazih Antonios in 1965. She was a retired twenty year employee of Ullman Devices of Ridgefield. 

A member of St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Danbury, Mrs. Antonios enjoyed traveling and knitting.

In addition to her husband Nazih, Mrs. Antonios is survived by three sons, Ghassan Antonios and his wife, Myrna Nohra of White Plains, NY, Bassem Antonios and his wife, Jeanine Karam of Danbury and Imad Antonios and his partner, Christophe Demirdjian of Brooklyn, NY and four grandchildren, Marc, Rudy, Stephie and Rafi.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road (Rt. 39N), Danbury, CT with Archimandrite Michael K. Skrocki officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at St. Ann Church on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Trisagion Prayer Service will be offered at 7:45 p.m.

Donations in Mrs. Antonios’ memory may be made to St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Danbury or to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810.

Mrs. Antonios will be remembered for her sacrifices for her family, her kindness, intelligence and her zest for life despite her long and enduring health hardships while supporting her family and being a role model in courage and perseverance. She is deeply remembered and her memories will be forever cherished by all the members of her family and the community she belongs to. She will be sorely missed.
